If the country is still short of PPE then don’t blame Doncaster Sheffield Airport (DSA). With cargoes of the stuff appearing on an almost daily basis either directly or indirectly from Beijing (Peking as was and now affectionately perhaps PPEking). Pictured above is the scene alongside High Common Lane Finningley photographed on Saturday 13th June as a now regular delivery direct from Beijing is on final approach. The Boeing 747 is completing three return trips a week and complemented with other supplies by air onto DSA. Good business for DSA as we have reported before but wouldn’t it have been better if we had started the pandemic with warehouses stocked with the stuff, (imported by sea freight if sourced abroad) or better again made in the UK. Meanwhile we have DSA to thank and a host of key workers that include pilots and air freight handling teams to keep our frontline personnel protected.
